One fast way--if not the fastest way--to get out of debt is via debt settlement. It will only take a year or so before you'll be debt free, and you won't have to pay off the entire balance. Your creditors will just be forgiving the amount that remains.

And what is the nature of your debt problem?

You grow up thinking that it's normal to have a car and all those other things..and you also grow up thinking that it's normal to have debt for the rest of your life --but I want to get out of debt! I'm having a problem reconciling the world of credit with my being a Christian.

You are perhaps looking for reasons or motivation to get out of debt--and you picked your being a Christian as the primary reason, but you can't expound on why? I've to admit that your question is strange--but I'll try to answer it.

Perhaps your being debt is taking a toll on all aspects of your life that you're wondering why a Christian would find herself in debt anyway(?)

when the Lord is my shepherd I shall not be in want..

Chalk that one down to "trials."

Second, it's normal to be paying off debts until retirement in this society, and you can pay and never default as long as you have income right, but why am I feeling that It's such a waste(?) you ask yourself.

The answer to the 2nd one is...because instead of being able to GIVE, you are instead spending your money in paying off your debts...

I guess make being able to give more as your motivation for getting out of debt.

Do fill out one of the forms that you see around to speak with a debt consultant with regards to how you can eliminate your debts the best.

Hi Lil Bird, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. It won't give you additional peace of mind if you worry incessantly about your current problem. I am sure that you'll be able to go through it and learn from this situation.

Unfortunately things like these cannot be rushed. There is always a process that you need to go through. Just like what was suggested earlier, you may sell assets. You may also acquire funds from your 401(k). You can also try taking a second jobs, or other odd jobs on the side, just to increase your current income, so you can pay your debts off.

And yes, I'd like to echo the previous poster's suggestion--if you aren't comfortable discussing the details of your financial situation on this public forum, feel free to fill out a form on DestroyDebt.com and you'll be matched with a qualified provider. The service is also free, so you will not have anything to worry about.

Hope that helps!

Gladys, you can try consolidating that debt. One way for you to do so is enroll your accounts to credit counseling. That way, your interest rate will be lowered, and you may not have to pay any more fees.

Here are your options on getting out of debt via consolidation:

1. Acquiring a secured debt consolidation loan
2. Acquiring an unsecured debt consolidation loan
3. Credit counseling
4. Debt settlement
5. Chapter 13 bankruptcy
