Also, I'd like to ask a hypothetical question.... Can I file bankruptcy in Texas even if i live in another state? Does this apply everywhere, even?

Usually (or according to Federal law) you can only file bankruptcy in the district where you have resided for 180 days prior to filing --

What kind of debt consolidation plan are you doing Chaser? But anyway, that deals with your unsecured debts. I think you can file bankruptcy --if you wish to restructure your secured debts, via Chapter 13 and if you haven't just been through a previous bankruptcy.

But if you have..you probably are asking right now  that question: How often can i file bankruptcy in Texas? ...
