Here's another one from CNN, and I'm wondering if the amount of debt (for example if it exceeds $100k) has a direct effect on suicide...
"A man who shot his wife and three children to death before committing suicide in Middletown, Maryland, last weekend had about $460,000 in mortgage and credit card debt.."

In debt and suicidal -
For some people being in debt is just the trigger for the suicide. Perhaps the person is pre-disposed to it or really has the tendency and the pressure of being in debt just pushed the person over the edge.
None the less, debt still played a factor to the suicide.

You know what's scary? I just read an article about the Neuroscience of suicide and found this:
many who have suicidal tendencies still end up taking their own lives, despite intensive
intervention.

I thought I read a thread here that talked about creditors running a mental check or requiring a mental report or something to that effect - aside from running just a credit check on prospective debtors...
