Identity theft is the largest white collar crime ever. Have you been a victim yet? Well most Americans are not aware that there are 5 areas...so they are only protecting one, financial! Did you know that financial only accounts for 28% of Identity theft reported across the United States?
Medical Identity theft (can kill you)-One reported case imparticular...a lady was being rushed to the hospital incoherent, the EMS can now swipe your driver's license and have a detailed medical history (in some areas). Unfortunately, they could in her area....They found out that she was diabetic, or so they thought. Her husband was able to intervine before they gave a non-diabetic insulin. Someone had used her information to have a surgery done and they must have been diabetic.
Social Security- imagine applying for a job somewhere and finding out that you already work there? Has happened, infact the lady ended up finding out that she worked 19 other places across the United States...Guess who gets the W-9 at the end of the year?
Driver's License-What would you do if someone stole your information and went and had a replacement driver's license made with your information and there picture...Commited robbery and dropped your license at the scene....You are driving and get pulled over for a routine traffic check or moving violation. You are arrested on the spot with a warrant out for your arrest for a ARMED ROBBERY! True Story!
Criminal-Imagine if someone uses your information when arrested for a drug deal gone bad? The person spends time in jail but does not show up for their trial. Guess who gets arrested on their job? Guess who has to prove their innocence? This has happened and even though she was proven innocent but out of 36 months has been arrested 42 times....even after going to court! She has been thrown on the ground and physically detained most of these times. Humilitating!
Financial-Well you really do not need an explaination of this one!
Kroll monitors all five areas and restores them when compromised! They have 3,400 investigators and detectives that go to work for you when you need them. Most of us will at some point! Statistics now show that 1-3 people will be a victim.
