They claim they can bring their clients back to square one. Interesting pun I must say. They're also affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce, TASC, and the International Association of  Professional Debt Arbitrators. Seems like a pretty good set of credentials to me.Have you tried their record at the Better Business Bureau?

For one, it looks like this company's BBB report was only opened in February of 2009, which is hardly enough time to gauge whether or not the business is legitimate.  Why risk using this company when there are hundreds of other debt settlement companies that have been around for longer? My guess from some quick research is the company you are speaking to is an outside affiliate for Square One Debt Settlement in Florida.  That means they sign up clients and pass them along to the company in Florida for servicing.  The company in Florida seems ok from what I can tell - TASC members, 8 BBB complaints (not bad for this industry).

There may be two companies with the same name. The Square One Debt Settlement site says they've been around for 15+ years. This is the one in the Florida office.

Square One Debt Settlement says that they've been around for +15 years? Whoa...the debt settlement industry is not that old, is it? The best settlement companies out there are ...just 4-5 years old, aren't they?

If, there maybe are 2 Square One Debt Settlement companies out there, the one in Florida- as Debt Guru has said- sounds legitimate, while the +15 year old one--sounds dodgy, then why not just try other less confusing settlement companies? The debt settlement industry is ever growing and ever improving that's why the consumers should really shop around first before picking one.

I agree, instead of locking in at Square One Debt Settlement, why not go to the BBB and/or TASC sites, pick several top rating companies, call them one by one ,take notes and then choose the one that can accommodate your financial situation the best.If you do not know what to ask the settlement companies, why not speak with a debt consultant here at destroydebt.com. Just fill out one of the forms, it's free.
