They're also a debt settlement company and apparently are not members of the TASC. Which state are you from? Have you tried checking if they can operate on your state? Not all debt settlement companies are authorized to work in certain states, you know.

I find it rather amusing how these firms claim to "the number one" in their respective fields and have awful ratings with the Better Business Bureau. I guess consumers really need to do their research thoroughly and not easily be swayed by claims of greatness. You've got proof here: http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/debt-reduction/credit-solutions-in-richardson-tx-90005445

Also, the Attorney General from New York, Andrew Cuomo, has sued this company for fraudulent and deceptive business practices in May of 2009. And, according to their BBB record, they have over 1,600 complaints in the last 3 years and their BBB grade is an F. I think needless to say if you need to settle your debts you should look elsewhere, as there are plenty of reputable companies out their who can help. You can fill out a form on DestroyDebt.Com for a free consultation or to get matched up with a qualified provider.

The best way to overcome your debt problems is simply to control yourself when using your credit card, try to prevent yourself using your credit card to buy everything. This will help you to manage how much money you are spending on each card. Thank you..

Yeah that is true in some sense, but a lot of people get into debt because of things that may be out of their control. For instance, the person who is managing their finances well and out of the blue loses their job. Or, the person who goes through a divorce suddenly and is left with one income that is not enough to stay afloat and on top of the credit card payments. Not to mention some of the tactics the credit card lenders use, such as raising interest rates to like 30% if the person is only a day past due. How rediculous is that??!! So, while I agree with some of the things you mentioned, I would also like to shed some light on the fact that a lot of people find themselves with credit card debt for reasons that may not necessarily be a result of frivolous spending and mismanagement of money. Anyway, I heard that the interest rate hike may be addressed by Congress? I thought I saw on the news that they may be changing that policy. If anyone has any details that would be great, I am curious to know what they plan on doing to stop the predeaory lending!

For one, the new legislation would allow consumers who are behind on payments to reclaim their original interest rate by making 6 consecutive monthly payments. Second, the legislation would require lenders to give consumers 45 days notice before raising an interes rate. At this time they only need to give 15 days notice. And also, the legislation would ban Universal Default. This policy allows one lender to raise the interest rate on the consumer's credit card if they find out the person defaulted to another lender.

Just to add to the previous comments, that new legislation that they're talking about is called Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009. That can really be considered a good credit solution. It takes effect Feb. 2010. Aside from what they've said, this act also prohibits credit card companies from marketing to college students below the age of 21 and/or without proof that they are capable of paying back what they've charged.
