Are the two related? What does everyone think?

Absolutely. Unfortunately people struggling with financial issues can at times feel depressed about their situation. If you have a lot of credit card debt and are feeling depressed, make sure you keep in mind that there are a lot of people out there in the same situaion! You are not alone! If you need help, don't feel ashamed to reach out for it. Your depression will only worsen if you hide behind your situation and let things get even worse. By taking control of your finances, you are putting yourself in a position to improve your mental health!

I also had an experience with debt and depression. It took me a long time to feel better, and that really only happened once I paid off my debts. You should try and figure out what your best options are at this time to put an end to both debt and depression once and for all.

It depends on your current situation, Anika. There are various debt consolidation options that cater to specific needs. In regard to debt and depression, I honestly believe that debt consolidation can help ease the burden that one has in dealing with their debts.Could you fill us in more about this?

i have $20k in unsecured debt because i was on medical leave due to pregnancy. i think i may also be having the blues right now, and i have had debt during the time that i was pregnant, and i know that i am in a very stressful situation. my boyfriend's job is not really enough to pay for what we have and in all honesty i want to be able to get out of debt the soonest way possible. he just tells me that we need to make it a step at a time.

Debt and depression is global. I was just talking to a friend in Turkey - and he said that there was quite a protest when one of the heads of the IMF visited his country recently. And I heard that the suicide rate in France is the highest in the highly developed countries, just next to Japan.
