Hi rarity, I dont think its all about the money. If you learned about Maslows hierarchy of needs, you will see that if there is a particular need that is unmet, the person becomes unmotivated. And the lowest hierarchy is the physiological needs which are the basic ones, food, shelter, water, air...all the things we cannot really live without in this world---That doesnt include money. Money is part of the need to become powerful, prestige. Some people settle with the simple things in life. There is actually a study where, the researches saw no difference in the happiness level between a rich person and a poor person. So basically if we are still not happy with our physiological need, we will not move forward into a higher hierarchy of needs like security and finally the self actualization level.

  • You could be frugal and fulfill all of these needs.
  • You could spend a lot of money and never fulfill any of these.
  • By overspending money on “wants” and not addressing your physiological and safety needs, you could jeopardize the fulfillment of love/belonging, esteem, and self-actualization needs.

Hi rarity, I think that money isn't everything and that money isn't the only way to fulfill your needs on this world. Sure, you can say that you can't have food, water and shelter without money but sometimes, you can have that without the need for money. People always find ways to cope with their problems because they're determined to fulfill the heirarchy of their needs. Maslow's heirarchy described five needs in which they are: Physiologic needs, safety, love and belongingness, self-esteem and self-actualization.It's primarily a concept in which people are meant to follow. We all follow it unconsciously. And I think that money isn't the only method available to fulfill the needs. Sometimes, even money becomes the reason why we can't even achieve our needs. :)
