I think the cheapest I saw was like $125-150 and the deductables were crazy. If your buying insurance your self even the $200-300/mo policies are not sufficient if your planning on having a baby as none of them cover maternity. IE they don't cover it at all. To get decent maternity I had to go with group insurance through my work. Thats like $500/mo but is taken out before taxes. Prices are crazy in the US for any kind of medical proceedures. They really need to do something about that. It shouldn't cost $10k for something most countries do for free.

my insurance on disability just for myself is close to $100 a month. I guess that is the typical amount nowadays? I dont know - I thought it was pretty spendy myself
