Many people spend so much on drinking, that alcohol takes over their lives. They drink at work which results in poor quality of work or even getting fired. Some stop going to work. With decreasing income and increasing expenditure bankruptcy is a matter of when and not if.

Do you think this scenario is a reality? Can excessive alcoholism lead to bankruptcy?

this is the reality. however i think alcoholism is only one of the factors. other vices such as drug dependency and smoking as well as other form of addiction can also become one of the causes of bankruptcy.

I think that excessive drinking can cause depression, inertia, and thus will affect the quality of work, family harmony!

Excessive drinking can be one cause of being in real debt but it still boils down to the attitude of the person/s involve.

yes, it's upto adults to control these vices and act in a matured manner. drinking destroys your liver along with your money. it's best to avoid it or at least try to control drinking habit
