That's why you have to be careful and make sure your bank will back you up in case any thing ever happens. I know CITIbank offers 100% fraud prevention but their service is really slow at times.

Its really scary sometimes, you really won't know what other people are up to. So make a double check on everything.

Maybe you could report that to their boss, letting them know that you did not appreciate that. Sometimes if enough people complain something can be done.

I've seen this happen in a bank before, where the person in front of me in line couldn't remember their account number, and when the teller asked for her social security number to look it up she blurted it out loud. There is a reason it's so easy for the criminals...most people are too stupid to protect themselves.

I don't like when you are in the check out line and the teller ask you your zip code. Maybe I don't want everybody to know my zip code. Sometimes I tell them I would rather not say.

Now if they ask for your phone number, that is different...

I never thought about this before your right. I think I will have a small notebook with me and write the adress and phone number on it explaining you just don't want to say it outloud. I would think they would understand.

This has also been happening to me a lot lately too.  I have gone to my bank and the teller decided that eveyone should hear my private business.  I asked her to transfer money between accounts and she repeated the last four numbers of one of the accounts.  I was not happy with this.  I let it go; however, next time...if there is a next time, I will not talk to her bank manager but I will call the bank myself and complain.  This was not professional and can lead to identity theft...and it's happening a lot lately, and I don't think she would like it if I was repeating her bank account numbers.

yes it sometimes happens in a bank that does not know the security behind the identity theft.
