Is it safe to use your credit card for internet purchases even if has high credit limit? What would be the procedure to check a site if its safe to pay or not?

You are safe as long as you use an actual credit card and not a debit card. An actual credit card protects you 100% against unauthorized charges. A debit card affords you protection after $50 of unauthorized charges but when you are losing money directly from your bank account you risk having checks that you have written bouncing. That is a compete nightmare.

I only use my card for the company I have been dealing with for a long time but for usual purchases I don't. I only use other tools or exchangers.

You can always file a charge back in case of fraudulent transactions. If you pay online line make sure it's not a phishing site. Make sure also to transact with SSL capabled sites (i.e. https:// )

The first thing you should look onto the site regarding security is SSL certificate, it is secure! Then, the second thing is URL starting with 'https://' in that 's' stands for security! Look for these things, while using credit card onlline!
But its still a risky business considering the fact that you dont meet them in person.
You must exercise due dilligence just like what you do offline. Don't buy anything from an online shop without any good reviews .

Yeah I always check at the time of purchase https on the url as I've read that somewhere though I don't have deep info about it.

When I first started ordering on the net (Ebay) I would always send a money order, but it was taking to long to receive my packages. So I decided to use my credit card, it's much faster. I use paypal it seems to be very safe to me.

I only sites that I know are reputable. Beyond that I always look for the little padlock to know it's a secure site.
Yes i totally agree, i would rather use my credit card in face to face contact with some. Rather than some complete stranger i don't know over the internet.
Do you know the complete stranger that you are giving your credit card to at the store? Probably not, and that person could just as easily write down your account number, expiration date, and even CID number.
