Always ask for your monthly statements and review each of the transactions carefully. If anything happened that your statement were sent to a wrong address, notify your agency.

There are just those that don't care much about financial statements and they leave it off on bank employees which is wrong. You should be aware with it yourself.

It's good to check your credit card bills periodically to see if there's something suspicious. Don't only look at the total.

I make a habit of looking at my credit report every year. That way I know if there's something on there that shouldn't be.

I don't keep track of everything as good as I should. I have a debit card, and I have online banking, but I don't sit and write down how much I have left after each purchase.

It usually happens with the postal dept., it is our duty to request for the duplicate bill in person from the office! If not, our card or account will be temporarily cancelled, failing to pay the due!

When you check your credit card statement, make sure they don't put something on there that you did not approve of. Sometime when you get a statement they will put a promotitional in the envelope for a monthly fee, if you don't tell them you don't want it they may try to charge you anyway.

When ever I can I check all of my bills. The other week I changed telephone carrier. When I got the new phone bill, I called the company and asked them to explain each transaction. Come to find out that they had added some features that I did not ask for. They immediately removed the extra charges. If you don't watch your bills, you don't know what you are paying extra for.

Also check your balance online at least once a day to ensure that no mystery charges have been deducted from your checking or credit card accounts.
