If ever this happens to you, act immediately, don't wait sometime or else everything you have might be taken from you. Call all local agencies that could help you and report the details.

Internet might be sometimes scary right? Its all virtual so anything from anybody could happen. Especially now that most of us were already using Internet on our daily lives.

Sometimes people can sound so legit. Especially on the net. I try not to click into areas I know nothing about (Especially emails that look suspicious to me.)
This happened to my cousin once. He had only purchased a 20 dollar product on the net and he got a call from his bank saying someone from Barbados purchased a $440 product with his card.
Whoa! Really? What did your cousin do after he was notified? Internet is not really safe these days just like in the real world.

I recently got my first debit card and have only used it in a few places online, Paypal, eBay, and a magazine subsription website. I haven't experienced anything bad yet.

In such a case better change your card for security reason.

i have experienced that with paypal. their fraud protection doesnt help much until you have some proff along with you. incase you are sending any payments through paypal to someone, try to get the information regarding that person by telling him to fax it to you. this way you have a proof to prove yourself innocent.

I got an email from someone saying that they were paypal. They said that someone had ordered something from my paypal acount. I was told to click on a link to verify if I ordered something. If I don't click on the link they will suspend my account for a few day. I closed the email and deleted it. I beleive the link was someone trying to get my information. I ignore all emails like this.
