If ever this happens to you, act immediately, don't wait sometime or else everything you have might be taken from you. Call all local agencies that could help you and report the details.
there strict procedures in place you have to prove yourself innocent in this case
I've been there, and it was hell. To be honest, you are never perceived as the victim unless the police are involved. Be very very careful about what you are doing on the Internet.

Internet might be sometimes scary right? Its all virtual so anything from anybody could happen. Especially now that most of us were already using Internet on our daily lives.

People should not share there ids with anyone until you are sure about who he is and why is he asking for it, also make it a point to work with reputed companies with sound background and reputation.

Yeah, but i thought precaution was better than cure.
Sometimes people can sound so legit. Especially on the net. I try not to click into areas I know nothing about (Especially emails that look suspicious to me.)
This happened to my cousin once. He had only purchased a 20 dollar product on the net and he got a call from his bank saying someone from Barbados purchased a $440 product with his card.

Whoa! Really? What did your cousin do after he was notified? Internet is not really safe these days just like in the real world.
