This is a report which is generated by a credit reporting agency (such as Trans Union, Experion or Equifax). It is supposed to show accurately the history of your on-time and late payments on mortgages, credit cards, rent, utilities, and other debts. It may also show how much you owe on your various debts and whether you have taken the maximum amount of credit available to you through credit card borrowing. Your credit reports are used, with other information, to generate a credit score that is supposed to reflect how good a credit risk you are.

Credit history or credit report is, in many countries, a record of an individual's or company's past borrowing and repaying, including information about late payments and bankruptcy. The term "credit reputation" can either be used synonymous to credit history or to credit report.

Thanks to all those who provided info about credit score. It's really helpful. But seems like most people are not aware of credit score. more details would be welcome

To put it basically, your credit report has all kinds of info on you regarding your credit. There is information to do with how you have paid off your bills (if you are late paying them, or overdue accounts), there is any legal information regarding collections, if you were sued, if you have a criminal record, any bankruptcies etc.
