Thanks for the advice on student loans. I was a bit weary of applying as I don't want any debt hanging off my shoulders but now I feel a lot more comfortable about student loans. I need to apply soon so I can receive money before the semester starts. Any suggestions?

The one thing I would like to add to the opening post of this topic is that you have to make sure you received the appropriate student loan! In my case, I had no idea what I was doing when I was getting my student loan. My parents had horrible credit and are lousy with money... I inherited this trait apparently. I had to pay for college with private student loans. I didn't realize what that meant at the time, but what I learned afterward was that it basically meant no consolidation firm would touch them. I am stuck paying 10%+ APRs! I eventually was able to get my APR reduced, but for three years I was making payments that didn't even cover interest!

Private Student Loans can have many benefits for the career minded student. With the prices of things going through the roof, going to college can be very costly. Many students don’t have thousands of dollars to pay their way through college. This is why many college students use student loans to get themselves through college. When it comes time to pay back their student loans, it can be a real burden and a distraction from their career.
