Yup eg: send birthday cards online instead of those by snail mails.. save on postage. And buy one piece of cake rather than a whole cake and end up you cant finish it.

Lately my boyfriend and I have been tight on money so for our anniversary we said we'll just postpone the celebration for when we can afford it.  And for his birthday gift I made him something he loved and didn't cost anything.  A nice fancy homecooked dinner is fun too.

Everytime we celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and others occasions, we always cook the foods at home and it's very effective coz it lessen the amount of expenses via 2/3 if your gonna celebrate on resto.

my idea is celebrating birthday is important, but we can do it in a very simple ways, try to celebrate it with full of memories w/o spending to much. for me i'm always preparing such this occasions in order that i have save money to spend.

A party need not be expensive , you could try baking a cake instead of a store bought one as a gift which is much cheaper.

i think you must make your important events simply. for example, you can celebrate your birthday party at your home.

We don't spend a whole lot on birthdays. We do buy cake and ice cream for each other's birthdays, and we give a gift of a gift card that the birthday person can spend on themselves and that is about it. I have no little ones.. my family does the same for me that I do for them.

We don't really celebrate our birthdays extravagant. Me and my family celebrate its birthday only at home, just family dinner. Cook food and that's it. As long as each of us has a good health then its alright with us. I think that's the most important thing to thank God. We really don't need to spend too much on birthdays especially this day of recession. Just in case i can avoid then maybe i can find cheap alternatives to enjoy my birthday without spending too much.
