Wow, what a deal! I've noticed, when I've been in the US, that a lot of grocery stores seem to do these 10/$10 sales... I think what I saw was at either a Price Chopper or a Grand Union. Anyway, this is pretty unheard of where I live but still... a sale is a sale and, when you find one like that, it's worth stocking up. I have a deep freezer in the basement and a reasonable sized pantry cupboard so I have adequate storage space. It feels like a blessing when you can skip the more expensive items in your grocery order for a few weeks!

i will buy bulk and store up some stuff which can keep for long run and not fast expired. sometimes i wrongly bought bulk in which expired in 3months soon. After that, the expired date is reached and i have throw 2 bags of stuff..so be smart and look for the expired date when buy in bulk.

I like to buy foods (non-perishable) at bulk because I can save more money when shopping for groceries.

I think it has to depend on what food you buy.You cant expect to buy fresh fruts and vegetables in bulk. It will rot and spoil.Perhaps canned food? But you have to beware of the expiry dates yah?No doubt can help to save some money, but not worth it if its spoil n you didnt realize.

I believe buying in bulk is a good way to save money. But, on food, we need to be extra careful because food expires and spoiled if not consumed on time. We might just end up spending more than saving.

I buy a lot of food in bulk. I tend to pay attention to the sales that the local stores are having. Safeway almost always has terrific prices on meats--I bought a 5-pound pack of pork country style ribs the other day for just over $5, and tonight I found a really nice family pack of steaks for only $1.98/pound. I don't worry about buying too much, because I can always freeze what I don't plan to use immediately and cook it later. One thing I've found that's a really good way to save money is to have a membership card for a warehouse club like Costco or Sam's Club. I have memberships for both--didn't pay a cent for them, since my mom added me as her other household user--and it saves me a bundle. Even if you don't have any use for bulk quantities of things, you can team up with family, friends, or even neighbors and split them along with the cost.
