The government has issued information regarding generic medicines. If the drugstore can show a certification that they are affiliates with the Ministry of Health, rest assured that their products are trustworthy. But we have to be careful because we have mini-stores with smuggled drugs which might be expired already.

Our government implemented the generic medicines so maybe it is safe although I have not tried if it's effective or not..

It depends. If its just paracetamol or amoxicillin i can just buy a generic brand.

I buy medicine as per doctors prescription. So it depends on the doctor.

I have no personal experience about using generic medicine but as per others view I think its a good option to buy generic medicines by spending less and at the same time being assured of its quality.

Yes, I do sometime but I have to say that them are not always exactly the same of the original. You have to check to be sure that they are using exactly the same products, in the same quantity and quality. If not they canot have the same results.

Just last month, I have to bring my father to the doctor. His anti-biotic costs too much if we buy a branded one so we opted to have the generic drugs. Fortunately, he's recovered from his pneumonia fast and we saved almost 40% on medicine expenses patronizing the generic drugs.

Yes, I do use generics. In fact, for prescription medications covered by my health insurance, I am actually required to accept a generic, whenever one is available, for the cost to be covered. I also buy generic, over-the-counter products like acetaminophen, stomach remedies, etc., because they are substantially cheaper than the brand names.
