Self-control is the key. You just have the determination to stop buying things that are not important.

When l was young before, l seems to have your kind of habit, too. I also likes to spend my pocket money into buying magazines and story books. After l start work, then l slowly developed a saving habit. I start to understand that earning money is difficult..I think you must think twice before you buy anything, so you will be able to spend your money wisely..

It takes a lot of willpower for someone to stop spending.  The thing is, razz, you might not be aware of how much you are actually spending on that "useless stuff" either.  Maybe seeing the reality of it would help you.  Why don't you try this?  For one week, keep track of every cent you spend on your comics, junk food, etc.  Write it down, record it in your mobile device (if you have one), wherever it will be most likely that you will actually do this exercise.  Then, total it up.  You will be astonished, I'm sure, at how much you are spending.  Some people are unaware of how much money they could save if they just cut out even one habit -- like buying coffee every day, rather than bringing it from home.  You are young and it would be a really good idea to start working on some sound financial habits now :)  Good luck!

The solution to that problem is to learn how to control yourself.  Know your priorities and know what's important. Those things won't feed you if your hungry and broke, think of that. You are still young and i know you will learn to control yourself when you realize how hard to live if your broke. While you are still young start saving for your future for you to be secure.

I used to waste alot of money on magazines too and still do from time to time. Thing is they arent worth it and most of the information can be found on the internet anyhow. Try limiting your spending by only buying a magazine every month or setting a budget for the week and sticking to it
