No, it won't help. the price sold at shops are very high because they add prices for making them into jewellery. unless the price rises sharply, or you won't earn from it.

It is really easy to buy Gold... you could get grams from your local bank or in the internet for exaple at Ebay... or you try Goldfuns.

You could buy gold bullion coins like Krugerrands or other 1 ounce bullion coins. Then you keep an eye on the price of them, and when the value goes up - sell!
