Which is better for you ? to buy or to rent a house ? I don't know you guys, but I have the mentality to possess a house, my house has laid off for nearly 2 years, not for renting, not for living, just empty. A not very good investment I made.

I did buy a small apartment for myself in London. I lived there fore 16 years but had to sell up as I could not afford to keep it. I did not have enough to keep paying for maintenance and repair of the property. Now I am renting and only pay for electricity on top of my monthly rent. The apartment block I live in is well maintained and managed. Repairs are quickly done and I am free from the worry of having to pay for maintenance work.

I believe it's a far better option to buy a house, even a very small one if you can raise enough money for a deposit. You now have an asset. Most likely that asset will improve and perhaps later you will sell it to buy a slightly bigger and better home.If you do have to move unexpectedly, your asset should bring you in enough money to pay the mortgage because you can rent it out until you return.

right now we stay in our in our own private home and we give rents too i.e one whole floor. and we have another house nearby which is solely for renting and we do get some amounts from there too. i think its better if you own your own house and not stay in rents but its different for others regarding the economic status too.
