Businesses are greatly affected by the world economic downturn. It is an acid test and many have close shops as the overheads are too high and can't sustain the bad times. I am also running a business and find that I am also greatly affected but glad that I can survive despite the slowness of business. This is the greatest challenge when one is running a business. There are good times and bad times time. You only need to be strong and think of how to maintain your business. Your shrewdness comes to light to face the bad times.

Yes, others are right. One must be creative and make a different strategy. Innovation also is the key. Make a research on how old businesses survived during a downturn.

i think you might have got it wrong here, because usually its a promotional offers that takes place in almost every big retail markets or lets say corporation and it necessarilly does'nt mean that they are going down. in fact, here with lots of holidays and festivals almost every month , people wait for these festivals to buy things because it is at this time that they get lots of offers and almost all big corporation have it.

Maybe thinking of marketing strategies that would cater to people with basic needs. Right now because of the crisis we face all over the world people are on a tight budget. So basic needs are always on priority before any other. Health and food are good examples. So if your running a business and is going down, better make arrangements or sacrifices to make it stay on the industry. Concentrate on which is only necessary.
