It's been told that establishing credit does not have to just be from credit cards. I've heard that putting a cellphone in your name can help you establish credit, are there any other ways to establish credit without using a credit card and if so which are more suitable to you?

In my area, my phone, electric, gas (heat), auto insurance, etc is reported to the credit bureau. Simply paying the full amount on them by the due date will help a bit.

I use to think that having a cell would help my credit. Well in my case that does not apply. The company that I have my cell through does not report to the credit bureas which sucks. I have had my cell phone for over 3 years and I have been very good at paying on it. I wish they did report. I know one way you can devople credit is through some prepaid cards that report. That might help you out getting your credit going. Just be careful and look at all the rates and so forth before you accept the card. I hope this helps and take care.

You can buy furniture on credit and also clothes and a car. Anyone of these would help to establish a credit rating.
