Many people go shopping to feel better to gain a temporary high. They but items of clothes that they don't really need. These clothes fill the wardrobes and are hardly ever worn because practicality and logic did not enter the picture when these items were bought. Avoid impulse buying. Think carefully and clearly about whether you really need the item.

Don't take your credit cards to the mall with you!! And only carry a certain, small amount of cash! It'll help - believe me.

Yeah impulse buying is a bad idea, you should think about what you're about to buy and think if you really need it and will use it or wear it before you actually buy it.

I am so guilty of this.  I love to go to the store and I tell myself that I'm just going to look, but by looking I'll usually find something I want and its all downhill from there.  I've found that the best thing for me to do is to stay away.
