Renting Versus Buying

Right now, I rent my home. Eventually, I will buy or build, but that won't be until I am able to save for it. Renting does have its benefits. For one, if anything goes wrong in the house, it is not my responsibility to fix or replace it if I was not at fault. So, if my hot water heater decides to quit, I don't have to fork out the dough to new one. I also don't have to worry about homeowner's insurance or property taxes. On the other hand, if something were to happen to my landlord, I may not have a place to live anymore. Do you rent or are your buying your home?

Are you rent house forever ? I don't think so. I prefer to buy house. if we have own house we can free to pay the Rent charge. Although little house, still the house is my own.

I think that buying is the way to go. I own my own home. What I did was brought a piece of property while I was renting and paid it off in monthly installments. I brought from a single person though. After I got the land paid off I built my home and my work shops. You do have to pay taxes yearly. But I was lucky it is only 39 dollars a year till I get a lot of improvements. For every building you put up you pay a little more. I got 10 acres for less then 10 thousand, it needed and still needs a lot of work. But it was worth it to have my own piece of property.

My parents have bought a house for us but I don't live there though my brother, sisters and my mother still live there. I live together with my bf and we are renting at the moment but we have plans of buying a house through mortgage in the near future.

I believe on buying a house . See if you are buying a house in loan. You are paying monthly installments and 1 day comes it becomes your own.I agree that you have to pay some taxes but You are a property holder now. but if you are just on rent you are paying for whole life and you get nothing in return . No day come to make it your own property if the land lord is making any agreement. But there are some laws if  there was no agreement are you are living on rent from 5 to 10 years then the property becomes yours and the landlord has no right to increase the rent and also no authority on that house. It happens on India and Nepal but i don't know about other countries.

I would prefer to buy a house.  Think about it, the money you pay for rent could be used to pay your mortgage.

I think buying is so much better then renting. We loose out in the end if we keep renting as we are only helping the landlord to pay his mortgage and we remain homeless.

I rent my apartment as of right now, and it is pretty great not to have to worry about maintenance all the time, and with some apartments you get free heat and hot water, which is a great thing to have!

Buying is the best. Owning a house is worth. If you renting right now and wanted to own a house, you better start to invest now. so in long run you can have a house to call it home.
