We tend to go once a week but lately we stretch the food to last nearly two but it's quite an empty fridge by then.

I have a grocery budget of $400 per month for our family of 5 and can usually come in under budget. My trick is that I find a sale for certain products and make multiple trips per week to stock up on that item. This week I am stocking up on hamburger, beef roast, COD fillets and Johnsonville brats. I should have enough to last me for a few months but purchased it all at a deep discount. For the next few months, I will not have to purchase these items which frees up more of my budgeted money to stock up on other sale items.

I'm very bad as budgeting my grocery dollars. I used to go once a week and was overspending on extras which I really didn't need. Now I try to go 3 times a week and just buy what I will use for the next couple of days. It's on my way, so gas is not an issue, and I've found that this works better for me when it comes to saving.

I buy them once for the whole month and I try to stick at my grocery list for that shopping.

We do grocery once every 3 months or so. I don't know but I think it had really helped us in saving some money when we do this. But for the wet ones like fish and meat, my mother go to the market once a week.

Usually I buy groceries 2 times a month only since I buy some foods in bulk.
