Yes. Sometimes people can't control the urge to shop...To be able to save, one must be able to differentiate luxury from necessity :)

Yes this is one of the main reasons. People see a celebrity with something and think I want that too, whether it is an expensive car, or expensive handbag, and out comes the credit card. Before they know it they have amassed several thousands in debts which they cannot pay back. They get used to this luxurious lifestyle, and cannot do without it so the overspending continues.

I can say that Luxury can be one of the reasons, but there are other such reasons like feckless decisions taken my managers and other unrestrained spenting. All these created this mess.

Yes I suppose so, but someone's luxury might not be someone else's so you might not always think this is the case.

No, it's not luxury. It's envy. Greed. Materialism. Brought about by marketing and advertising. Telling us that we're not really rich unless we have this and that. Telling us that we don't belong if we don't have this and that.

Of course! We all want to live a better lifestyle. It takes real fortitude and strength to face one's own net worth and admit that funds are limited and therefore lifestyle must suffer. Most people don't want to be poor and credit cards provide a way for those people to 'steal' the luxury lifestyle. I blame TV! Everyone lives well on TV, but that is always make believe.

yeah i think so. we are working hard to have a very luxurious life.. but people who don't know how to handle their finances are tend to overspend and that's were the debt starts..
