I thought I answered this question yesterday, hmmm, weird.... When we priortize our budgets, we should always start with the basic needs first, and always put some towards savings every month. Pay yourself first! I don't care if it's only $5 dollars a month, give yourself something whatever you can. 1. Shelter, we need a roof over our heads. Pay the mortgage payment. 2. Food, we need to eat to exist. 3. Utilities (electricity, and heat) We want to stay warm and be able to see when it's dark. Candles can only give off so much light. 4. Transportation. Pay your auto loan and insurance, so you can drive back and forth to work. 5. If there is any extra, put more in savings and then you might have a little for some entertainment.
