Hi friends, I need your advice about my student loan. I am paying installments of my student loan since 4 years and there is one more year to go. It will get completed in March 2010. I always thought of clearing the loan before time in order to save some interest I am paying on the main amount. So is it a good thing to be done to clear off the loan before time and will it actually help in saving some money instead of paying interest.

You'll feel so much better and have greater peace of mind once the student loan is behind you. If you can afford to pay more than the minimum monthly payments, then please consider doing so. Even finishing the loan out one or two months early will save you some money. That's what I did for our car loan and we saved signifigantly. Best of luck!

Yes, pay it off as quickly as possible and get rid of it.
