If you feel that your rights have been violated, you may be able to file a complaint (for US) with the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC enters all complaints into an online database called the Consumer Sentinel, that is used by thousands of criminal and civil law enforcement authorities worldwide. If you feel that a credit card company is employing abusive or harrassing tactics (such as calling you before 8 AM or after 9 PM or calling your friends and employer and talking with them about your debt), then please file a complaint. Your complaint may help others avoid the same treatment. Let your voice be heard. Report any violation here.
FTC Complaint P.S. You can also use this page to report identity theft.

I've never heard of that website before. The website that I mentioned is the official reporting site for the Federal Trade Commission in the United States and not affiliated with any commercial enterprise. They're the ones responsible for ultimately regulating commerce and retail trade in America.

Thanks for your comments Lotte! And, you make a good point. Not many people know that this type of harrassing behavior is illegal. I hope more people will choose to be informed of their rights.
