Key logger is the number one killer. They hunt for every pattern you type in your laptop keyboard. From there they can do a brute force to find out all the possibilities of your password..

Many hackers will target uses who do not have a firewall, or bypass an outdated firewall through an open port. Other hackers will drop malware onto your hardrive that are embedded with instructions to collect specific data and transmit the information back to a specific IP address the next time you log on. Some hackers will engage in pharming and phishing to get information.

Identity can be theft in various ways1. By creating
fake login page: In this method attacker creates a fake login page and asks user to login into his account.when user types his or her user name and password, these information goes to attacker, after that real login page is displayed backed to to user.User thinks that he had typed the user name and password incorrect, and he types again. In thw meanwhile user name and password combination goes to the attacker.2.
Key logger is another type of identity stealing program.key logger is a small .exe file, which steals the key stokes typed by user.So click on the unknown .exe file.3.
Cookie stealing is another method of identity stealing.HTTP is a stateless protocol, so every site keeps record of its authenticated user by using cookies.By stealing these cookies attacker can steal the identity of the user.So clear the browser cookies after u logout from a site.
