Renting A House Is A Big Loss For Us

Luckily I never had to rent, but I was tempted recently. Then house prices fell a little and I was able to get a mortgage. Now my monthly mortgage payment is less than some of my friends rent payments. I feel sorry for them and encourage them to get their own place. You should open another account and put some money away each month for a mortgage deposit

The housing market situation scares me, right now.  And, there are so many predatory mortgage lending companies and few laws that protect consumers. I'm going to wait for awhile and not get locked into a mortgage that I can't afford to pay. Jobs come and go, and income does too, but a mortgage payment is a committment that demands attention.  If you lose your job, you may not be able to simply ditch the house before foreclosure occurs. Best of luck with your situation. I hope things work out. I posted a blog entry about this same subject, including smart questions you should ask yourself before buying a house and assuming the responsibility of a mortgage.

Rent is so expensive and housing loans are not that easy. Sigh.

Yes renting is really a big loss. But it is the easiest way to have a shelter because housing loan is expensive too.

Renting a house for most of your lifetime is a real pain! You'll just make the owner richer and richer. I myself rented an apartment before and it was a hard time come the payday every month. I just wish I have my own house!Luckily, today my company is paying for my apartment.

I agree with you.  Renting houses is a big loss to us. I t only helps the owner to finance his mortgage.  Unlike in my country where the Government build houses and rent it out to people.  You pay the rent for certain years and at the end it belongs to you.  This is one way the Government helps those who can't afford to buy houses.
