Do you have a student loan currently? Or, are you planning to go to college and don't want to apply for a loan? If you are in the US, you might apply for a Pell grant which does not have to be repaid. If you have student loans already you'll want to give them priority as they survive bankruptsy. Definitely pay!

it is best not to avoid student loans i think.see if you are taking education loan, they will not ask the money until u study,go to the job and make money.so it's the best way if at all you are confirmed for a bright future.

Many people are still paying for student loan more than five years after college. Try earning some money with a local weekend job or part time job at night. Apply any online earnings to the costs of books and housing. Apply for scholarships and student grants. There are many available, here in the US and in other countries. Best of luck with your situation.

well student loans are good but when it comes time to pay..well......not really so maybe get a job or just do most online jobs and part time and do any job do not choose (as long as its morally upright for you)

i didn't get a student loan when i went to college - i got a job, worked full-time, did school full-time...at least try doing a part-time job, possibly at a place that supports school fees & helps you pay them...be smart in your spending - don't live on credit, live smart & you'll be fine! good luck!

There are many options available to you if you plan your education in advance. Like you can start saving for your fees before joining and still in planning stage. Take hand loans which will save you from interest or opt for part time jobs either in your college campus or outside and then the best would be to get scholarship based on your merit.

Hi, Sometimes I think that avoiding student loans is impossible, especially with the rising cost of education (and everything else). I graduated from college in 2001 and I am still paying off my loans with no end in sight, and I didn't even go to a "big name" school! Anyways, there are scholarships, grants, part time jobs on or off campus, and just taking things slow and paying cash as you go along. Interestingly enough, I took out loans to go through college, but decided to pay cash for graduate courses, one at a time. It took 5 years to get through but I don't have any new debt. One tip I can give you is to express your financial concerns to a friendly professor. Sometimes they have the power to create a job that might not be posted on campus. Good luck!
