Revenue Share Program Updates

There has been a significant increase in participation on the site recently. Normally, this is would be great, but unfortunately there have been a significant number of new users posting mostly of off topic information and one-line replies in order to get posts counts up as part of the revenue share program. This is causing the site to be filled with information that isn't really relevant to debt, distracting from the more serious conversations and frustrating many users. It's also resulting in ad revenue from the forum not keeping up with the revenue sharing program. I've been very reluctant to do this, but I'm afraid changes to the revenue sharing program are going to be necessary to limit these distractions and keep the program alive.Starting April 1st, I'll be making the following changes: The "General Discussion" section will not count towards the revenue share program. This is where most of the off topic conversations seem to be having. The rate per forum post/blog comment is 2 centsBlog posts will be credited at $5/1000 unique impressions instead of 20 cents per post to help encourage higher quality blog posts instead of people posting for quantity. These rates will only apply to NEW posts made after April 1st, you'll still receive the current published rates for any contributions already made, or made before April 1st. Again, I'm really sorry and was very reluctant to have to make this change, but I'm afraid it's necessary to keep the quality of this site high.

Yeah, I'm sorry Shonna. I know you and some others have been making great quality contributions and really hate for this to affect you. I'd like to say it could go back if things settle down, but I'm sure it would just attract another round if so. Really the $5/1000 impression deal should be generating more revenue than the per post part in the long run. I just added the per post half as an added incentive for people to get started. Unfortunately it's being abused..

I totally agree ... when I joined I just felt it was strange to get $0.05 just for saying "Thanks" so I'll get more money if I said more thank yous :) ... anyways I really understand. But what we all want from you is a full guide of the website ... also a place where we can check for payments proof. thanks :)

Thank you for taking care of this in a timely matter! People that are here for assistance or assisting in debt are not going to really lose out as we are posting in the other areas anyway. It should help weed out the ones that joined the site only to make a quick dollar. Thanks again!

Yes, I agree with you. In any forum one line or one word is not counted as a response for any discussion. so it is better to post some quality posts

I really understand this, there are so many posts that make no sense at all. I like to talk about how to earn money online and money over all. Not about a begging cat.

Can you tell me I I've got this right: so you won't be paid for general discussion posts, and it will be 2cents for posts in all the other more important topics? I knew this was going to happen, it's a good idea and now your payment method will match other sites like this which is good. Now people won't abuse it keep up the good work. I'm new to this site but debt is a big problem in my family and I hope to learn a lot from here.

This will probably benefit the quality of the site, but it's still disappointing as I enjoyed the high rates here.xox Emma

While I can't say that I am disappointed, I am relieved that the quality of this site will remain intact. I come to this site looking for information that I can use that will help me. The more information I have regarding mortgages, budgeting, financing, etc..are truly beneficial to me. Thank you for taking care of this for us. We appreciate all of your hard work and for making this a professional site.

I understand why you made the change. However am I the only one that thinks that the 2 cents will still be abused with one-word responses and off-topic posts- and more of them because it will take more to make $10 for a payout?
