I think it is a high possibility. I know many US citizens are in debt from a lot of things, but especially credit cards. If a person isn't responsible they can rack up so much debt. I have seen people take out loans just to pay them off. Its pretty bizzar.

That what I understood from the Opera show. I was thinking if one day I gone to live in the States, I'm sure I've got to get a loan to find a place to rent and a car and many other stuff.

I think that is true for not just americans but for many people all over the world who feel they need things or want to get ahead some how and resort to the temptation of get it now and paying for it later not realising they will be eventually paying for more.

Yes, in U.S.A people are overdependant on loans now a days, because its recession time and no one is getting proper idea to what to do.
