It is indeed true that man is measured by his job that provides him the dignity. And I used to think that one has to fight against the current or so-called challenges to prove one’s worth. Then later in life, I began to realize the folly of it. Work is to enjoy or celebrate life. Gifted are the ones who could find their niche or work that they enjoy doing. There will be a different quality to work when one does it with interest and enthusiasm. The whole sky will become the challenge. That’s where you could find or groom talents like Einstein, Chopin, or Hemingway. Otherwise, one is going to work with much anguish and jarred strings and end up a schizophrenic.

I have had many differrent kinds of jobs in my life. Sometimes I have been able to find jobs that I really liked, and sometimes I have had a to take a job that wasn't exactly my dreamjob and a job that was psychologically challenging as well as physically challenging. It was often a matter of paying my rent, so I couldn't aford to be picky ;-) But I think that the ideal job is a job that you love and a job that you are not only doing for the money.

Most activities are jobs, even if a person is not paid. For instance a housewife does many jobs, but receives no pay. Does not mean there is no value in the job.A retired person might show his grandchildren how to fish or care for another person. That's work. But it doesn't pay money. But it's still valuable. Thanks for the thought provoking discussion.

A job that is demanding mentaly and physicaly is bad enough. But if your not happy its terrible. I think we should all search for rewarding jobs even if its little rewards. It makes job hours go by faster and makes you feel better.
