so what are some good types of insurance that one should get?  the reason i'm asking is because there are a lot of different types out there and i just wonder what ones i should really get.  i know that getting health insurance is one of the major ones, but with the way things are going it seem like its some thing that would be hard to get a good plan that doesnt cost me that much.  so whats your take when it comes to getting insurance on different things?

Another insurance to have is Term Life Insurance. What if something happened to your spouseor miner children or yourself. You or your spouse woould have something to take care of expenses, this is something we all should have. The best and most affordable would be through where you work, if they offer it. It is usally affordable. I would have been up a creek without a paddle if I had not have had life insurance on my late DH when I/We lost him almost one year ago, and when you do get the insurance, please try to get enough for the expenses and a little extra in case you need it to live on for a while or for other incurred expenses. I had enough, but, it would have been better if I would have had a little more.

Personal accident insurance is necessary for those people who often take planes, trains and drive cars. Medicine insurance is avalible for older persons or non-healthy persons.

Life insurance, medical insurance and home insurance are essential for me. I need Fire insurance as it is very hot and dry where I live.

The best advice I can give you is to shop around.  There are a few that "pop" into my head..like MetLife and Aflac..but there are so many out there.  Aflac, if you can get it through your employer would be a great choice should you become "hurt" and not able to work. When shopping for your insurance, you will want to find a company that works "best" for you.  You might have other needs than those that are here on destroy debt.  You may even have to consider different companies for each type of insurance that you require; however, sometimes if you have car insurance through one company, you might even be able to get a better deal on your house insurance through the same company.  Do an online search for insurance agencies within driving distance and compare their rates to what you need.

Victor pretty much covered most of the ones I was going to say but on top of that, you may want to consider where you live & get insurance in relation to that. What I mean is for example let's say near the area you live it's common that floods occur. Thus! It might be a good idea to get flood insurance. Little stuff like that. Just don't go paranoid with it and go overboard getting every little type of insurance because most people probably wont need most of the insurance they get in the first place. Sooo basically. Cover the basics, and get a little extra fitting the area you live in + other one's that might end up saving you money in the short or long-run.

Medical insurance is definitely worth it. I was without for a while and I cannot tell you how much better it is to be paying $15 instead of $100 to visit the doctor, I would avoid the doctor because I did not have the money, then I would stay sick so I would miss out on work and make less! Here in the States auto insurance is a legal requirement if you want to drive, I'm not sure how it is elsewhere. I would also recommend life insurance if you have a family, you do not want them to get stuck with expenses if something unforseeable happens to you. If you rent you may want to look into renter's insurance, it is horrible when something happens in an apartment that you could not anticipate and things end up getting ruined like clothing or electronics, and are not covered by the homeowner's insurance because you are a tenant.

Try to search for a multiple insurance which will cover most the things you need and which will also be light on yor pocket. I guess health and accident insurance are the most common and most needed as well apart from other types of insurance available along with life insurance.
