I think that whether it will be forgiven or not also depends on the annual household income of the student's family and the value of their assets. If not, everyone could just refuse to pay student loans and the poor company or administrative body would be saddled with debts.

I know that if you're in certain careers that your student loans can be forgiven. Education is one of them.

Some professions may help you pay off your debt. You'd have to inquire.

In most of the cases student loans are not forgiven. But again it depends on many cases like your country of residence, your annual household income and your income. And if the income generated is enough to show that you can pay then there is no way escaping, else it will go into bad debts.

I have several stutent loans and havnt paid them in over 10 years.i keep finding myself unable to pay.so i do deferments .I was told even filing chapter 7 or 11 will not wipe out loans.nothing will.

Some of our student loans were forgiven because we paid on time and we even were able to pay extra for about a year straight. I think it depends on a lot of things, though.
