Can they handle all the information if we give it to them? I think its better to slowly teach them about the importance of saving, debt management and so on. They will have to know this when they grow up or it will be an endless cycle of a debt-ridden nation.

I think it is always important to know you shouldn't be wasteful, this would go towards food, petrol, resources and money.

I just thought of something else.  If i have children I would like to have a savings account for them, and if i gave them pocket money I'd try to encourage them to put some in the savings, so they are aware that it is their choice, and later on when they get to spend some, they will know it was because they chose to put it into savings.

Start as young as you can really, someone I know was taught to always keep a note of what they spent, and nowadays she has nothing to financially worry about.

For me best way is to give money for all week and in the end, make a small discusion what happen with this money, for what were spent.

Yes I think so, there isn't nearly enough and it seems less parents are teaching their kids.

I totally agree with you. If that is something that really happens in real life and people actually deal with it, why not teach it at an early age. I believe that education is the best prevention medicine for any problems. If the future generation would be educated on the use of debt and how you can actually manage it effectively, then people would not be having problems on this matter.

yeah..i think that the young ones should know things about money already..it will help them when they grow up..they'll learn how to save because they know the value of money..and they will also learn how to spend wisely.. :D
