Be careful not to give your credit card number to sellers unless they have proper verification and are in a reputable, well-known company. Some of the less reputable ones will use it for other illegal purposes and cause a whole lot of unnecessary trouble for you.

I have maxed out a few credit cards. I am still paying them off and the interest builds every month that I don't pay them off in full because the interest rates went up so high after I missed the first payment. I would agree with being very very careful about using the credit card. ONLY use it if you have the money in your checking account to back it up.I am not sure how it will work to protect your bank card, I would assume transferring your funds from bank to credit account involves giving your information over the phone or internet, unless you go into the bank and talk to them every time you make a purchase.

Those are great identity theft prevention ideas. As for myself, I use a prepaid debit card, not attached to my online account so that I can make online purchases or pay bills as needed. The debit card does not allow for over spending or purchases being made past the amount that I've added to the card. Hopefully, this will protect my seperate bank account from tampering in the event someone were to steal my id through swiping or other methods.

Use it wisely and credit card can be useful but I don't understand what you mean " transfer the funds to my credit card"  You shouldn't need to transfer fund to your credit card, your card is ready to use for purchase of items and you'll only pay the bill later.

I would just reccomend for you to be just a safe online banker and if you can do that then you will be alright from fraud and other various threats.

I would say that if you KNOW that you will only use it when you NEED to use it and not just because you have it then I would say go for it. However if you feel that you will just use it because you have it then I would say that you should just say thanks for but no thanks!
