Do You Trust People Who Were Previously Bankrupts?

I have filed bankruptcy, and I still consider myself a trustworthy person.  Knowing all the facts will help you to make your decision as to whether a person is trust worthy or not, and basing it solely on the fact that the person has filed bankruptcy is not fair...of course, life is not fair. Business ventures are different, a red flag goes up when they see that you have filed bankruptcy, they don't care how you got in the position, they just see that you filed.  It stays on your record for 10 years, and I'm really struggling to pay off the debt myself this time. Once the bankruptcy is removed from my credit score, and if I am asked if I have filed for bankruptcy, I will say "yes."  I won't have to, but I will because I will want to be honest.

I think there are bankrupts who are trustworthy and those who are not. Each should be judged on their merits. Some rich people shouldn't be trusted! If it's your money, it's your responsibility.

Up to the reason of bankruptacy. If he/she bankrupts with bad management, I will trust the person, but I will buy stocks in his/her new company and i will not lend money to him/her. If a person bankrupt with a big accident, or a big illness, I will trust him and give him a help.

I think it all depends and really if you are a business you just might want to be aware of the fact rather than not doing business with them. I mean usually people still do business with them, they just don't offer them credit, they just ask them to pay for their purchase the same day.

I feel BANKRUPTS are synonymous to UNRELIABLEs

This is a really difficult question to answer, because it depends on why they were in debt in the first place. It also depends what I would be trusting them with. I personally wouldn't trust someone with me lending them a large sum of money if they were bankrupt before and may have been facing bankruptcy again. But then again, I would only lend a very small group of people money in the first place. As far as trusting goes in a friendship sort of way, it doesn't matter to me how rich or how poor you are, that isn't what makes a friend.

a person being bankrupt does not mean that he is not trust  worthyif that person has improved his financial status on his own  he is more trust worthy than a normal person .

i can tell you that will some (not all) bad things sometimes happen to good people.  I've been there.  I have a long story and i won't post it here but believe me when I say i am working very hard to clean up my credit.  It WOULD be very easy for me to declare bankruptcy again but i don't want to.  it's been 5 years since I declared bankrupty (jointly with my ex) and my credit and financial situation is improving everyday.
