I do believe that a penny saved is a penny earned..maybe it should be "a penny earned is a penny saved!"  I am definitely trying to save as many pennies as I can.  It might take me longer to get out of debt, but I will be debt free.

On what basis you add money to the jar- it is daily or what? I liked this idea of saving and then collecting votes. Would like to follow if anyone already doing this can help me!

Saving a few pennies here and there definitely help. They add up after a while. Another suggestion I have is to start a change jar. You will be suprised how quickly it adds up. At the moment, I use my change jar to do laundry, and when I want to go get a coffee. I am slowly being left with only pennies and nickels, but you know what? One day I am going to need money and wont be able to wait until my payday. You know what I will do that day? Roll Change.

There's a man who encouraged others to save and donate their pennies to help those in need and they raised six million dollars. So, yes, saving pennies does work. But, I would say it would work better to pool the pennies into a bundle with other people's pennies.

It really does work. Instead of letting change fall out of your pockets under the sofa never to be found again, or buying sodas and candies you don't need, just put it away in a safe place and you will see how quickly it adds up, especially if you put bigger coins than pennies in there. However I am not a big user of cash but I know some banks allow you to round your purchases to a dollar and deposit the "change" into a savings account when you use your check card. For example if you purchase something for $5.37 with your check card, your bank automatically takes the remaining $0.63 and puts it into a savings account for you. This also makes it easier to balance your checkbook because you are always working with whole dollar amounts.

"look after the pennies and the pound will look after itself"  I love this saying, it's true, don't waste the pennies on little things because it all adds up - if you're careful about the little things it'll soon add up! xox Emma

It's amazing how fast change can add up! If you put the change from your purchases , each day, into a jar of some sort, you'll be amazed how much has accumulated by the end of the month! I've done this before and was definitely surprised.

to be honest i dont save pennys, i dont think it is worth it. i only save pounds usually as these add up to a bigger sum of money quicker than pennies

hey this actually works. I have been thought to do this since young and its kind of a habit right now. I'm a happier person at the end of every month.
