I will add my own experience to this thread.

I signed on with CreditSolutions on Monday of this week.  I was all ready to do what they asked of me to get things rolling.  I was supposed to write a hardship letter and open a separate checking account at a different bank than I ordinarily use.

Tuesday I woke up ready to attack these tasks.  As I was about to do it, I just got a twinge of uneasiness.  They seemed to imply that they were not going to do anything with my creditors for 21 months except to advise them that I was in the program.  I went to the BBB web site and looked them up.  They had an "F" rating.  To their credit, it looks like they are resolving complaints, but it still didn't feel right.  I started poking around on the Internet, and I was having trouble finding anything good about them to give me confidence that the program would work.

I decided to back out.

Oh, my gosh...backing out was a harrowing experience.  I had to talk to one service rep who argued with me for a long time about how I should stay.  Then I was on hold for about ten minutes.  Then she came back and argued with me some more.  Then I was put on hold again.  I was then transferred to another rep who continued to argue with me.  I actually became so incensed that I started yelling at them to quit talking and just close the account.  The rep ignored me and continued to try to argue.  I finally asked if she really thought she had any chance of making me stay in the program...and she continued to argue.  I finally just quit responding to her except to acknowledge that I was on the phone.  Soon afterward, I finally had my account closed.

One hour and fifteen minutes of fighting to close my account.

Then....THEN...I received a call from the rep that I set up the account with the day prior...and he argued about how it was a good company and the BBB only gives good ratings to people who pay them...and then he got a very demeaning tone asking how I would get out of my situation.  He said "are YOU going to do it?" in a very sarcastic tone.  I said "Yes.  Yes I am."  He asked how I would and I just told him that it wasn't his business.  He went on to claim that Credit Solutions cares about their customers.  I said they did not.  They care about money.  They are a business.  The bottom line is all any big business cares about.  He acted all offended.  When I started laughing at the concept that CS cares about its customers, he finally gave up.

Then came the e-mails.  Three of them.  More arguments, another about the awards they have received, and more arguments.

So...I'm up to an hour and a half and then some required to get past breaking off from them.

Let me tell you...leaving the mob is easier.

Wow, looks like you had a really bad experience with Credit Solutions. I wonder what the class action lawsuit is about..

I think I saw something about this, Credit Solutions of America right?

"Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro filed a proposed class-action lawsuit against Credit Solutions of America (CSA) claiming the company is violating federal prohibitions on predatory behavior against individuals in significant debt."

Interesting, how do consumers file a class action lawsuit anyway?

how do consumers file a class action lawsuit?

I think the consumers would have to hire the services of an attorney, like in this case with Credit Solutions, also if somebody has already started the ball rolling:

If you are working with CSA, have signed a contract and made at least one monthly payment you may be eligible to join this class.

I will say that I was so distraught over the inability to pay and CS calmed me down with all the charm of the witch with the apple in Snow White! Unfortunately, I fell for it hook line and sinker! So now I am $2500 into them and I am still in the midst of credit battles. I am trying to get cases settled on my own and doing much better than they have done since I started with them in March! If only I had known then what I know now. Bought lessons last forever, I never want to deal with them again, I have signed up on the law firms website and who knows but maybe I will someday get some of my money back. Please never use Credit Solutions! They will tell you every thing they can do for you and once they get the first 3 months of your money they do nothing but through numbers at you and if you talk to the creditors you actually get better numbers on your own.

The Class Action Lawsuit is in regards to overworking Credit Solutions staff and forcing commission based employees to work over 72 hour weeks we threats of losing their jobs.  Personally, not only did I work 72 hour weeks, but they also owe me $25,000 in sales... and the others in the Class Action Lawsuit are also trying to claim their hard earned lost commissions.
