Wow, you have an experience there. I would be so angry if same thing happened to me.

Wow, this is horrible. I have heard similar stories. If you think what they are doing is illegal, call the cops. In my place (not USA), the police cares about everything. Just make sure you call the cops and hope they can help you.

Oh my, that debt company must have been really lousy. Hope I never have to deal with one like that ever. You should sue them, get money to pay the debt and keep the rest for yourself. Don't agree to an out-of-court settlement. Harassment and threatening is illegal and punishable by law.

Yes you should look into your rights in this situation, otherwise they will get away with a lot of bad stuff.

wow, great info.. i would have been livid too!! I cant believe that they did that.. i think my mom ran into a prob like that once before but she told them, that if they do it again, she will take further actions and i dont think it happened again. I would have sued them!

Oh ... I never knew that, I wish they can do the same with me. So I can sue them and come up with either some money to pay my debts or to cancel all my debts because of there illegal action :)Thanks a lot for sharing this with us. That's just great to know.

And, to make matters worse, I've heard that some of the people who do the calling are actually current or past prisoners and that's why they could care less whether what they are doing is illegal or not. And the ones who are not criminals are sure acting the part! Thanks for this helpful post. I had no idea they were capable of such deception.

That is a vile thing to have done, and aginst the law surely. If not, it certainly should be. But then, maybe if we let others know of our troubles it won't be so bad. Tricky ethical questions, that's for sure.
