Posted on October 23, 2008 at 10:39 pm I've been investing in gold, platinum and silver coins for about three years.  I've been purchasing the silver American Eagles and other silver bullion coins as well as many gold Liberty coins.  I try to purchase graded coins that will hold their value and show promise of increase in value.  In doing some reading on coin investing I found it interesting that coins always do well.   Once again, though they are a long term investment.  I consider them part of our diversification.  As I'm not up on the stock market (my husband is), I find this a comfortable investment for me.  They can be expensive to purchase and I only do two or three a year.  I think the best part of collecting these coins is enjoying and appreciating their beauty.  Littleton Coin Company got me started on the silver.  They have a great program.  Easy to select and buy, plus you earn rewards and can eventually get coins free.
