I'm curious to know how many people are still paying off student loans?I had mine paid off pretty quickly- but some of my friends deferred theirs and are still paying. If you are still paying- how long ago did you go to college?

I started paying my loans off, at least three times but then life tumbled, job losses, family emergencies, stuff happens...so currently they are on deferrment and will remain in deferrment for at least one more year. After that one year period I fully intend to start applying that money towards my student loans which currently total $39,000. By the time I am able to start paying them off, the amount will be larger because of the interest rate. The one good thing though is that the interest rate on the loans that I have can never go higher than 8%.

I graduated in May 2006 and am still paying my student loans. I have mine set up over 10 years to pay. I'm hoping to pay them off sooner though!

I just returned to university and took my first loan. I plan to graduate in 2 years time but I have already started paying off my loan hoping that for the coming years I can qualify for grants or scholarships or other money I don't have to pay back in the future.

I'm still paying for the student loan, but the loan was not for my own education so that makes it tougher for me to accept.
