Can collection agencies legally haunt you with toll free calls to your family as well as yourself for services NON rendered? example: making an appointment, then cancelling it, yet the business places your non serviced appointment in collections?

I would think not. I don't think they can call and haunt you or your family members at all. Why would they have your family member phone #'s? Why would a service non-rendered go to collections?

Something doesn't sound right. A cancelled service is a non billable service if the service provider did the cancelling. However, if you were required to cancel a minimum of 24 hours in advance and didn't, you could be charged for the appointment. Since I don't know your specific case, that's about all I can say. Is the "collection agency" an in house or out of house agency? That makes a difference as well.

Not really especially if you change your number and move into a new place.

yes they can.. remember the contract you happened to read and sign before your loan or any application was approved? that is your contract and its stipulated there. non-payment of such will put you in a very uneasy position. try to pay your debts so as not to have a problem..

I still don't have any experience on this case but for my relatives they have. Collectors agent always calls in our house and we keep saying that this person does not anymore living here.

When you have outstanding debts these thugs will not leave you in peace. They will haunt you forever. I have such a bad experience and when I am not home when they come knocking at my door, they will not stop at that but will come back even in the middle of the night. They do that because what ever they can collect from you they are given certain percentage of commission. They don't have that respect any more on debtors. They view you as though you are the most wanted criminal. So it is better to settle your debts before the due date. You can then sleep peacefully without being haunted.

they can't put you on jail coz there are no criminal or constitution case about not paying your cc or loan debt, but they will haunt you as long as you are visible to them they will try to contact you everywhere its really a nightmare so its really a lesson to learn paying your debt or settle in time.
