What does it mean when you have a judgment against you for a credit card that you haven't paid on for over a year, once the card company gets a judgment against you what happens, do they place a lein on your property or what, please help

once the card company gets a judgment against you it means that you in DEEEP S$%T. You didn't pay your debt and now a judge is going to tell you to pay or face the consequences. yes the Card companies can go to any extent to recover from you.Vik

It just means you owe them the money and it's legal. I don't think they can go after your house or anything- It's not a secured debt-- it's unsecured. I'm not 100% sure- but I think it just means that yes you do owe it. It could go to collections.

Hopefully, the matter won't go so far as a property lien. If you are married, be sure that your spouse's income goes into a seperate bank account or the spouse's income may be available to your creditors.
