Ha, ha, ha..........they might throw us off of here for starting a political forum in the debt section. Perhaps the same person who said some words like the something , something of democracy must on occasion be cleansed by blood to keep it pure ? It's been awhile since my last history class. Jefferson? Adams ? Aw nuts...........now you're going to have me doing web searches all night.
Anyone who believes politics and economics aren't married has their head in the sand. Economics doesn't call for boycotts as an example. But boycotts are used as an economic tool by politicians. Economics says the markets will work out any irregularities. Politicians create the irregularities and then pass laws to "cure" the problems.

is a rose............yes, everything is driven by markets and money. The goverment really doesn't care if we fly through our windshield because we weren't wearing a seatbelt but the insurance companies do. That is but one example of the thousands of laws imposed upon us which are centered on the protection of big business and not on the wants and needs of the people. I've led many charges in my life, mainly in the workplace only to look back and see those who had encouraged me on were nowhere to be found. That is a rather disheartening feeling and really makes you think twice before taking on any battle. Now, I mainly fight only for things that affect me which is hard to do because I hate to see anyone getting kicked around.
Charges of the Light Brigade are harder to mount, aren't they? It is totally disheartening to see those who want change fade into the sunset when the going gets a bit dark. If you do any research on the American Revolution, you will learn it was only 3% of the population that truly stood behind the revolution and look what happened.
Today, if you can find 3 who will actually stand arm in arm, good luck.
Oh, there are still people who will stand arm in arm but not on some of the topics I consider important.
